AVG Antivirus Professional es un excelente programa en su versión comercial que protege los ordenadores de cualquier tipo de amenazas, fácil de usar, residente y con actualizaciones automáticas a través de la red.

Consume pocos recursos, con lo que nuestro sistema no se verá especialmente afectado en su rendimiento, lo que para un antivirus residente es muy importante (a diferencia de otros antivirus que ralentizan demasiado el sistema, lo saturan y provocan errores e inestabilidad).

AVG Anti-Virus Professional dispone de un menú central donde configuramos y gestionamos su uso. Dispone de varias opciones de escaneo. Así, puedes escanear todo el disco y dispositivos conectados (disquettes, unidades externas flash, etc...) o sólo la parte que le indiquemos, pues contiene una explorador donde se nos da la opción de colocar una marca en aquellas zonas del ordenador que deseemos ser escaneadas. También podemos programar el escaneo a las horas y días que nosotros consideremos oportunos.

Además cuando el programa encuentra algún archivo maligno lo lleva a cuarentena, y lo mantiene seguro y a buen recaudo hasta que aparece la vacuna contra él o decidimos eliminarlo.

AVG Anti-Virus Professional busca, analiza y desinfecta cualquier amenaza que detecte. Es capaz de analizar cualquier archivo ejecutable o librería DLL que pueda ser objeto de peligro. También es capaz de analizar el registro de Windows, los archivos temporales de Internet, las cookies, etc...

Por supuesto también comprueba y protege el correo electrónico de posibles infecciones de virus, pues es éste un conducto muy habitual por el que los virus penetran en el sistema y lo infectan. El programa contiene plugins especiales para algunos programas de correo electrónico (Outlook Express, Eudora, …), y se integra perfectamente en éstos para un control total del correo.

AVG Anti-Virus Professional es en resumidas cuentas un antivirus muy por encima de la media, y con actualizaciones automáticas diarias que provocan que una vez instalado en el sistema nos olvidemos de él.
